In the oilfield the coil tubing unit is one of the most practical pieces of equipment, providing safe storage of a continuous length of tubing through which gases and fluids are passed.  Tubing units maybe used for the circulation of N₂, oil, water, acid, alcohol, chemicals or solvents for downhole workovers.  Other applications include locating hydrate plugs, placing cement plugs through packers and for circulating cement to casing bottoms.
